Tava is delighted to, once again, host Rosa Noreen of Maine for two workshops that will surely help dancers channel their grace and enhance their musicality! Rosa taught a sold out “Delicious Pauses” workshop last year to rave reviews and CT is excited to have her back!

12:30-2 “Foundations of Grace: Ballet for Belly Dancers” Come discover what ballet can do for your belly dancing. But don’t worry about your toes–we won’t be doing pointe (aka toe). In this workshop, you will learn how ballet principles and vocabulary can give you graceful lines, stronger balance, better control, and more stable turns.

This workshop will distill key movements and combinations from the ballet vocabulary that are useful to belly dancers. Rosa will demystify the terminology frequently used by the Reda company and by contemporary belly dance choreographers like pas de bouree, chasse, rond de jambe, chaine turns and much more. Soft-soled dance slippers are recommended.

2:15-3:45 “One with the Air – Secrets of Effortless Veil Work”

Learn to make your veil work seem effortless. No more fighting with your veil to make it do what you want. Using airflow, extension, and body lines, Rosa will teach you to work *with* your veil rather than fighting it!

A rectangular silk veil 3-3.5 yards is recommended. Drapey sleeves and velvet clothing are not recommended as both enjoy the company of silk a little too much.

$40 for single workshop /$68 early bird rate for both workshops (good through March 15th)
