Levels): Nourhan will teach a 3-minute Egyptian Drum Solo.
The choreography uses shimmies, locks and other juicy movements that
reflect the musicality of the drum! Utilizing your technical
skills with expression, we will focus on music interpretations,
analyzing the relationship of each combination with the rhythm and
soloing pattern in accompanies.

workshop Erica will take you through a series of drills and exercises
that will help break down a basic drum solo. We will work on
strengthening and developing our isolations to help create sharp,
crisp, hip accents that are key to a dynamic drum solo. A short drum
solo choreography will be taught.

Diana’s
USA Tour ends in Westchester County! World famous Cairo dancer comes
to Josie’s International School of Dance! Featured in the video
series “Masters of Egyptian Choreography”. Diana, a celebrated
international choreographer and one of Cairo’s top dancers and
coach to the star. This is a special opportunity for Belly Dancers of
all levels. Join us at Westchester Belly Dance Meetup for updates!

Egypt Superstar dancer and choreographer Diana Tarkhan is coming to
our studio for a workshop and gala show! We are the last stop on her
acclaimed USA tour so don’t miss this opportunity to study belly
dance with an internationally renowned artist. Diana Tarkhan spent
many years living in Egypt and working as a professional 5 star hotel
dancer there. As a highly respected authority on Egyptian dance and
featured in the video series “Masters of Egyptian Choreography”,
she now travels internationally to share her skills and knowledge

all levels will have something to gain by taking this workshop but we
recommend at least 8 weeks of classes under your belt. Beginners will
gain an understanding of what Egyptian style is, be challenged with
earthy passionate movements, and see how Egyptian dance plays with
the music. Intermediate level and advanced students will walk away
with improved Egyptian technique, add to their Egyptian movement
vocabulary, and have a fantastic Egyptian oriental choreography to
add to their repertoire.
