176 Jackson Rd
Devens, MA 01434

Drum Workshop description:The first hour students will work with professional musician and percussionist, Mike Gregian on the drumming. He has played the doumbek, flute, clarinet, soprano sax and has been singing for 35 years performing for numerous clubs, with belly dancers, on recordings and at private parties. After a short break, you will move into the dancing piece of the workshop with Baseema and the drummers will continue drumming for the dancers.

Belly Dance Workshop description: American Tribal Style® Belly Dance (ATS®) is a trans-national fusion dance style that has the look and feel of an ancient tribal gathering of women. An eclectic blend of movements from traditional Middle Eastern dance, flavored with a little Spanish Flamenco, African, Romany, and Indian dances, ATS® is improvised with dancers knowing cues and combinations to create the dance. The result is beauty in motion, as dancers react to the music, connect with their fellow dancers, creating art in the moment.

During this workshop, Baseema will share some of her favorite ATS® movements. Focus will be on dance posture, connecting to the music, and having fun.

This is a great opportunity and promises to be a fun learning experience! You’ll be dancing and drumming before you know it! Mature teens and Adults welcome!

Cost: $35 for drum workshop only (extra cost for drum rental), $45 drop in (if space)

$35 for dance workshop only, $45 drop in (if space)
