Description: For all
levels. Grab a drum and have some fun! Learn the basics of the Middle
Eastern polyrhythmic structures, focusing on North African and Arab rhythms.
The class will includes a handout with review of the rhythms (written in a very
simple way) that were covered in the first workshop. Drummers will
continue to learn and practice each rhythm to music that Ramzi will provide on
a CD. Class will finish once again with a drum and dance circle.
For non-dancers drumming provides great stress relief and "brain
exercise." For belly dancers learning the rhythms of the music you dance
to is imperative to developing stellar musicality and feeling in your
dance. Middle Eastern drums will be provided.
