Dalia Carella The Magic Behind the Veil
Join us for an amazing veil workshop taught by Dalia Carella, Master Teacher and DCDC Founder/Artistic Director and Diane Hutchinson, DCDC Principal Dancer!
Dalia's unique approach to veil work is a study in the easy, sensuous expression of movement with fabric. The effortless beauty of her style belies the underlying core strength and technique necessary to execute it. In this workshop, technique wizard Diane will take you through a series of exercises to target, strengthen and activate your core--abs, back, glutes, adductors and abductors--and prepare you to tackle Dalia's veil choreography. Set to Beats Antique's "Caterpillar", this beguiling and challenging choreography is chock-full of balances, turns, leg lifts that will put your new skills to the test. You'll come away feeling sassy, sexy and strong after this class!! A 3.5-4 yard veil is preferred but if you are more comfortable with a 3 yard veil, that is okay.

GET MUSICAL!
Sunday November 19th, Raquy and her band DUM return to Connecticut for another immersive workshop to kick-up your musicality. Raquy presents a unique approach to playing rhythms and gives dancers practical skills that they can use while performing. We will go through some traditional rhythms and then explore ways in which to solo over those rhythms. We will also practice accompaniment and left hand /right hand independence.
This is a deep dive into musicality and rhythms to enhance your dancing. Zill players are welcome to follow Tava (or improvise) combos while playing.
*Open to dancers or drummers. Participants can either use zills or any hand drum.
